Emergency Closure / Evacuation Policy & Procedure

Intent

To keep all children and adults safe in any situation that may cause them harm or injury i.e. terrorist bomb or any other Emergency situation like Fire, gas leak etc.

Aim

To keep everyone safe if ever a situation arises and to inform parents of the situation should we need to vacate the building.

Methods

If a situation arises:

• To keep all children safe and together with all adults;
• To keep away from all windows and doors and position ourselves under tables;
• If we can vacate the building then do so to the muster point.
• Contact emergency services and owners;
• If this is not possible, assemble at the nearest safe area, observe children and contact Owners for assistant.
• Contact Parents / Carers from children’s emergency contact numbers.
• Remember our duty of care to our children.
